5 Jokes to avoid

Street performers often fall into the trap of saying the same lines and jokes. Here are 5 things to avoid saying:

1. “This is my full time job. My Mum is so proud of me – she thinks I’m a banker”

2. Turns to the people behind – “you have the best view- my bottom”

3. “Don’t try this at home kids, try this at school”

4. To crowds who join half way through – “Don’t worry I’m not a nutter with a microphone talking about Jesus.”

5. “Where are you from?” Tourist replies France. “Go away you aren’t allowed to watch.”

These lines are funny – yes – but are said by most performers in Covent Garden. Try and be as original as possible as that is how you will make more money and be remembered.
